An industrial park planning in Rimavská Sobota

They should build one of the largest industrial parks in southern Slovakia in Rimavská Sobota. This follows from the material submitted by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic to the inter-ministerial comment procedure. The total cost of its construction is estimated by the ministry at almost 12 million euros. The prepared area will then be offered to investors. The Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic expects that the industrial park will create an opportunity for the creation of at least 500 new jobs.

Slovak e-shops are benefiting from the pandemic, expecting a strong Christmas

The COVID-19 pandemic had a positive effect on Slovak e-shops. As many as six out of ten online stores saw revenue growth during this period. One third by more than 30%. They also expect an increase in turnover during the current pre-Christmas period. However, even prosperous e-shops did not avoid difficulties. In particular, they struggled with suppliers' outages and logistics problems. These findings resulted from the fifth year of the E-shop Barometer survey, conducted by KPMG in Slovakia in cooperation with ui42.

Prologis Europe-wide charity initiative

Prologis, a global leader in logistics real estate, is launching its Europe-wide December charity initiative. As part of the campaign, the European team plans to donate more than 200,000 euros to charities and charities close to the communities where Prologis operates. The Europe-wide campaign highlights the major changes that small charities, community groups and volunteers can bring. The initiative also illustrates how large companies and their customers can help within the communities where they operate.

New logistics park Opatovce - Trenčín

Design office STAT-KON s.r.o. is currently working on a project for a new logistics park in Opatovce near Trenčín. The park consists of 3 main buildings with a total area of 51,650 m2 on an area of 23.7 hectares.

Volkswagen Slovakia will produce the next generations of the Volkswagen Passat and ŠKODA Superb models

The decision was officially adopted on Friday by the Supervisory Board of the Volkswagen Group. For the Bratislava plant, this means the beginning of preparations for integration into production and future investments in the amount of approximately EUR 500 million. The Volkswagen Passat, the first model produced at the Bratislava plant, will return to Bratislava after more than 30 years. Thanks to the investment, 2,000 new employees will get a job.

Gebrüder Weiss will add a new terminal in Senec

The logistics and transport giant started expanding its premises in Senec in mid-October 2020. This is the second major investment since 2013. It will increase its space by 2,200 m2 in transhipment area, in administration by 600 m2, and in the logistics warehouse by 5,000 m2. Another extension with an area of 10,000 m2 remains in the reserve.

The future of logistics real estate in Slovakia looks promising

The total rental activity on the market of industrial and logistics premises in Slovakia reached the level of 75,000 m² in the 3rd quarter of this year. Of this number, renegotiations accounted for only 9,650 m2. The volume of total rental activity thus decreased compared to the same period last year.

IPEC is building a research and development center in Senica and is preparing other projects

The IPEC development group started the construction of a research and development center and production halls in the Senec industrial park for a German investor. In the first phase, a research and development center will be created here by partial reconstruction and attached new construction of existing buildings, in which highly qualified engineers will find work. Subsequently, new production halls with a total area of up to 20,000 m² will be added. They will arise next to existing production facilities. The developer and owner of the project is IPEC, the builder is Strabag. A total of 70 engineers will find work here in the first phase. The German manufacturer will lease the capacity from IPEC for 15 years. The building will be handed over to the user in August 2021.
