Logistics service users will need the right buildings

Prologis Research has released the second part of a research report called Automation and Logistics Real Estate # 2: How Automation Can Help Manage Current Supply Chain Challenges. The report describes how the growth of e-commerce over the last decade has highlighted the importance of logistics real estate for a modern supply chain. Logistics service users will need the right buildings with the right equipment and located in the right locations to meet the needs of the supply chain and, importantly, end customers who expect ever higher levels of service.

The Accolade Industrial Real Estate Fund has had a successful year. Despite the difficult period accompanied by the Covid-19 pandemic, it has added 170,000 m2 of new, environmentally friendly business premises worth 140 mil. EUR to its portfolio and brought its investors an appreciation of 9.38% in the euro and 12.66% in the Czech Crown class over the last year. Slovak investors can now also benefit from the growth of e-commerce and logistics.

"Industrial parks and centers can significantly help the start-up and growth of the economy. There will also be another significant trend in the development - a more cautious approach to speculative construction. The current crisis is a litmus test for the right construction strategy. Being too optimistic and having a lot of speculative space has not paid off for many," says Peter Jánoši, CEO of P3 Logistic Parks, about the current situation, which was significantly affected by the coronavirus crisis.

An industrial park planning in Rimavská Sobota

They should build one of the largest industrial parks in southern Slovakia in Rimavská Sobota. This follows from the material submitted by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic to the inter-ministerial comment procedure. The total cost of its construction is estimated by the ministry at almost 12 million euros. The prepared area will then be offered to investors. The Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic expects that the industrial park will create an opportunity for the creation of at least 500 new jobs.

Slovak e-shops are benefiting from the pandemic, expecting a strong Christmas

The COVID-19 pandemic had a positive effect on Slovak e-shops. As many as six out of ten online stores saw revenue growth during this period. One third by more than 30%. They also expect an increase in turnover during the current pre-Christmas period. However, even prosperous e-shops did not avoid difficulties. In particular, they struggled with suppliers' outages and logistics problems. These findings resulted from the fifth year of the E-shop Barometer survey, conducted by KPMG in Slovakia in cooperation with ui42.

Prologis Europe-wide charity initiative

As part of the campaign, the European team plans to donate more than 200,000 euros to charities and charities close to the communities where Prologis operates. The Europe-wide campaign highlights the major changes that small charities, community groups and volunteers can bring. New logistics park Opatovce - Trenčín

Design office STAT-KON s.r.o. is currently working on a project for a new logistics park in Opatovce near Trenčín. The park consists of 3 main buildings with a total area of 51,650 m2 on an area of 23.7 hectares.
