More than 500,000 tires will be stored on an area of almost 60,000 square meters. "By combining the complexity of stocks from multiple markets in the new distribution center, we can guarantee our customers in the region even better tire availability and market coverage - and that means far more options when ordering and delivering tires," explains Dennis Bellmund, responsible for Supply Chain Management in the EMEA Spare Parts Tire Division.
Continental decided to build a new distribution center in Bernolákov, near Bratislava, due to its convenient location directly on the D1 motorway. More than 60 trucks can be serviced daily on the 54 loading and unloading ramps, which means that the transport of tires to customers will be even faster. Thanks to this, up to 16,000 tires from the Continental range can be shipped from the warehouse daily. In 2023, this number will increase to 30,000 tires per day.
"Our goal is to support our business partners and strengthen our position in the region - we want to continue to be a reliable partner and have a more attractive offer than before," adds Dennis Bellmund.
