He added that the interruption will affect production only on Friday. In May, Kia Slovakia produced a four million car, which was the Kia Sportage model. Serial production of vehicles was started by the carmaker in 2006.

"The first vehicles in this plant were from the Ceed model line, which is still being produced. It is constantly designed and produced in Europe, especially for European customers. The Ceed models were presented together with a unique seven-year warranty, which brought them among the popular models, "said Potoček.

Kia Slovakia employs 3,700 people, who, according to a company spokesman, are helped by modern robots. "A recent investment of 70 million euros makes it possible to manufacture and install new petrol engines, complemented by a 1.6-liter diesel 'SmartStream' engine," added Potoček.
