The construction of VGP Park Bratislava I with a total area of almost 58 hectares is currently underway at the site. Gradually, 7 halls will be built here, which together will offer more than 250,000 square meters of leasable space. Current tenants already include Continental, Geis and Dirks.
Upcoming expansion, ie. VGP Park Bratislava II with another 5 halls, will grow on the other side of the highway directly opposite the existing area. In total, it will offer 150,000 square meters for rent. Completion of the first of the halls is planned for the 2nd quarter of 2023.
"We expect the rest of the halls to be ready for handover in the third or fourth quarter of next year, depending on the interest of potential clients. We are already seeing great interest in the location in the immediate vicinity of the capital. The excellent connection to the main D1 motorway, which runs practically throughout Slovakia and allows easy access to European cities such as Vienna or Győr, also plays a crucial role, "comments Tomáš Bednár, VGP Country Manager for Slovakia, and continues:" At VGP, we focus on providing technical expertise and experience of our team in order to offer solutions for modern logistics as well as the construction of semi-industrial buildings from A to Z. We work as a service provider and the first point of contact for our clients in terms of technical challenges they face as well as fulfillment requirements for environmental solutions. "
Upon completion, VGP Park Bratislava will become one of the largest projects in the VGP portfolio. The complex is located in a strategic location near the international airport, where all the infrastructure and ideal transport accessibility are available. As of January 1, 2022, all new buildings are aimed at BREEAM Excellent or DGNB Gold Green Building certification - a high standard with an emphasis on energy efficiency and sustainability.
The VGP Group already owns three locations in Slovakia. In total, the group operates in fourteen European countries and is successfully continuing its expansion. In Europe, VGP, based in Antwerp, Belgium, now operates 100 parks.
In addition to state-of-the-art technology, sustainability and energy efficiency are central to VGP's commercial real estate. The company is committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2025 and is also working on BREEAM certifications and green energy production for its projects. In total, 54.3% of its portfolio has already been certified and the green energy production capacity of the VGP Renewable Energy division has been increased to 74.7 MWp, while another 74.5 MWp is being prepared.
Founded in 2019, the VGP Foundation already supports 29 projects dealing with social issues, nature protection and the protection of cultural property. To date, they have received more than 7 million euros from VGP.
